内容摘要

This paper aims to demonstrate how text mining of online reviews can support business continuity management in the sharing economy during periods of market turbulence. We apply topic modelling and sentiment analysis to Airbnb reviews to pinpoint specific areas where short-term rental hosts can leverage the sharing-economy model to recover from market disruptions. The dataset includes 894,686 Airbnb reviews from both pre- and post-Covid periods, spanning 21 December 2009 to 31 March 2022. We consider the pandemic as a paradigm example of a high-impact external market shock, drawing insights and recommendations that contribute to a broader understanding of business continuity management in the short-term rental and peer-to-peer sharing economy.
